Scale of Harm: Estimating the Prevalence of Online Child Sexual Exploitation in the Philippines
Co-Investigator
Building on an earlier project to design a prevalence estimation methodology, we are implementing this methodology in the Philippines. Our data science method rooted in national surveys for estimating the prevalence of TCSEM (the trafficking of children to produce child sexual exploitation materials) will be implemented at two time points to enable shifts in prevalence to be monitored. It will also generate significant operational insights including high-accuracy municipality level prevalence estimates covering the whole country; key characteristics of TCSEM risk and vulnerability; and proxy indicators in secondary data that enable prevalence estimation for geographies in which survey data are lacking.
